A terrific interview Marina, thank you. I do know from my own experience with Marian and Doug that they are extremely articulate people, meticulous scholars, and can be very funny. I look forward to reading what is an unquestionably valuable book, and like the authors, I hope artistic directors will read it and pay attention.

Marina, this was fascinating! Thank you. I'm reading Apollo's Angels, learning about the way Italians shaped ballet and were resisted... what a complex push and pull. Also surprised to hear the original Giselle was not shy. Learned so much here. Right on the edge of what's known today. Super cool. I will get to the book when I am ready for another delightful tome. Thanks for this.

You should see Ratmansky's Giselle, based on notations! Not shy at all. Thank you for writing. The Tchaikovsky book is quite a fun read :-)
