I love the Paquita Grand Pas, have danced a version of it as a student and watched it as a mainstay of the Vaganova graduation performances. It's so difficult to capture movement with words but you transported me to several of these iconic phrases of choreo. Thank you! ☺️
Marina: Brilliant as always. What a joy to read your review. You've seen Paquita twice and yet the writing feels as if you have seen it twenty times. I love you appraisal of the dancers. I love Olivia and want her to be a principal, but the also wonderful Miriam got there first. I like Chun, Joe and Roman, but I love women more.
I have a growing fascination with ballet and find myself reading and re-reading your articles to educate myself (I just invested a lot of time watching the Prix de Lausanne this past week. Couldn’t help myself…..!!).
