It brought me back in memory to Italian dancer Carla Franci's Giselle. In the photo of Misseldine's long, long arms taking her bow, she still appeared other worldly like Fracci's body in the second act of Giselle that takes place in a graveyard. It was as if her already dead body were floating lightly above ground.
What I like, not solely but as part of this moment, is Susan Jaffe’s alert presence. It is time for management to be there for the ABT dancers and also for the public. It all felt very canned and stale under prior regime.

Susan Jaffe is a wonderful person-I have kissed her-and a great ballerina and a great leader. Thank the ballet gods ABT has her. Love, JIM
