Year's End
2025 was not a normal year. The turbulence of events in the world, and at home, has been extreme. But somehow, the end of a year, and the start of another, like the dawn of a new day, always brings new hopes. My principal hope is that somehow, the political situation at home will change, that this fever dream we are living will come to a end, and that sanity, and the rule of law, will once again prevail. On a larger plane, I hope, but with little confidence, that Ukraine will finally have a just and secure peace and that the humanitarian situation in Gaza will improve. I hope this wave of public violence, and anti-semitic violence, that the nation and the world are experiencing will abate. I hope that, especially at home, we can return to a measure of civil discourse and empathy for our fellow humans, wherever they may come from, and whatever may have brought them here.

Marina, thank you for your eloquent comments on the state of the country and the world. And needless to say, I much appreciate your observations on dance. And, finally, I loved "The Boy From Kyiv."
Happy New Year! Hoping 2026 will be better.
