It was an immense pleasure to speak with Ingrid Silva of Dance Theatre of Harlem for this profile, for Dance Gazette. (I love this photo, by Thalita Ramos.) Ingrid speaks about how hard it was for her potential to be seen as a young dancer in Brazil, and of how moving to the US, and dancing for DTH, has allowed to express herself, as a dancer, artist, and human. ‘Dance is a way to be seen as a full human being,’ she told me.

Enjoyed it so much, Marina
Beautiful and amazing strength. Difficult when you're so roundly rejected. Good for you, Ingrid Silva.
