“I love being able to coach and give back experiences,” Calvin Royal III told me for this Times piece, on his new Festival at the Joyce, "Unite." “Unite” is one of Royals’ first opportunities to do this in a more formal way. It is an ambitious project. The two alternating programs will feature work by 17 choreographers, performed by dancers from nine companies, including Ballet Theater, the Paris Opera and Alonzo King Lines.

Thanks, Marina. I enjoyed reading this -- the look between the dancers, Royal's honoring of mentors and the future. Also, I found the portraits impossibly beautiful! The light, the look, capturing both faces and movement. What a talented photographer.
Already grabbed a ticket! Looking forward to this and thank you for revealing the story behind this festival. Always love your ballet stories.
